- Manage a portfolio of cross-border personal tax clients from intake through filing and build lasting relationships
- Handle complex investment income, rental income, and rental properties for cross-border clients
- Review and prepare Canadian, US, and cross-border personal tax filings
- Advise clients directly on residency determinations, foreign tax credits, and treaty positions
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team, setting expectations and supporting technical and professional growth
- Create and deliver in-house training sessions throughout the year
- Use AI-powered tools to accelerate research, drafting, and review
- Monitor workflow and deadlines using cloud-based practice management tools
- Refine client service processes as the practice scales
Requirements
- CPA designation required; US CPA or progress toward it considered an asset
- Strong Canadian personal tax experience and US personal tax experience required
- Experience through a few to several busy seasons with an accounting firm
- Experience managing or mentoring a team, or clear readiness to step into that role
- Genuine interest in client relationships
- Comfort working in a cloud-based, AI-enabled environment
- Experience with CaseWare Hybrid Cloud, TaxCycle, and CCH Axcess is an asset
- Clear,
proactive communication with clients and colleagues
- Trust and estate experience is a nice to have, not a requirement
