Navius Research is a Vancouver-based consulting firm that conducts cutting-edge energy-economy modeling and policy analysis for high-profile clients across Canada. Our work plays a key role in informing the development of energy and climate policy.
We are looking for a qualified with a strong quantitative background to lead complex energy-economy modeling projects. This is a technical role that involves working directly with Navius’ energy-economy models to understand, interpret and communicate complex quantitative results, while coordinating project teams and working closely with clients.
The successful candidate will combine this technical aptitude with excellent project management and communication skills, as well as relevant experience in energy-economy modeling, energy systems or energy and climate policy.
The pay range for this position is $100,000 to $120,000+ annually.
Your responsibilities
- Manage complex modeling projects by leading project teams, liaising with clients, and ensuring projects are delivered on time and on budget
- Work directly with Navius’ gTech energy-economy model, interpreting, reviewing and assessing model results
- Translate complex modeling results into clear insights for clients through reports, memos and presentations
- Contribute to business development efforts and the development of new project opportunities
Your talents
- Robust quantitative and analytical skills, with demonstrated ability to understand and solve complex quantitative problems
- Experience managing or taking a lead role in complex technical projects, including coordinating teams,
managing timelines and working with clients or other stakeholders
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, with an ability to distill and convey complex technical information
- At least one of: experience with energy-economy or energy systems modeling; or substantive knowledge of energy and climate policy or related economic issues
- High integrity, sound judgment and ability to work independently to meet tight deadlines
- Driven and motivated to create a positive impact on the future of energy and climate policy in Canada
- Degree in economics, engineering, environmental studies, environmental policy or another relevant discipline, with a strong quantitative component
