You will be Accountable for
Prepare financial statements and working papers for operating and investment companies
Prepare personal, corporate, trust, and partnership tax returns (T1, T2, T3, T5013)
Support junior team members with general bookkeeping and the preparation of bank reconciliations, accounts receivable, and accounts payable
Support junior team members with the calculation, reporting, and filing of compliance reports, including GST/QST and payroll
Handle general correspondence and filing
Communicate effectively with our clients, government agencies, partners, and staff
Provide advice and training to junior staff members
Provide bookkeeping services to our clients and guide client's bookkeeper when needed
The Qualifications that Count:
Bachelor's degree in Commerce with a major in Accounting or a college diploma in Accounting
3 to 5 years of accounting experience, including payroll and DAS, GST/QST, bank reconciliations, and the preparation of financial statements and income tax returns
Experience reviewing and supervising the work of others
Prior experience working with accounting software, including Sage 50, QuickBooks, Write-Up, CaseWare, TaxPrep, and others
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Excellent interpersonal, organizational, leadership, and client relations skills
Good knowledge of taxation
Solid analytical a nd problem-solving skills
Strong knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite
