Canadian Feed Screws is looking for an experienced Manual Lathe Grinding Machine Operator to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude, good attention to detail, and experience working with metal components in a manufacturing environment. Previous machining experience is an asset. Salary will be based on experience and skills.
Duties
- Set up and operate manual lathe grinding machines with precision and efficiency to produce high-quality machined parts.
- Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and CAD models to determine machining requirements and tolerances.
- Use hand tools, calipers, and other measuring instruments to verify dimensions and ensure parts meet specifications.
- Adjust machine settings based on feedback from inspection tools and visual assessments to optimize performance.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety standards and best practices in manufacturing.
- Collaborate with team members on assembly processes, welding tasks, and lean manufacturing initiatives to streamline production.
- Perform routine maintenance on machines, troubleshoot issues promptly, and document all operational activities.
Requirements
- Proven experience operating manual lathe grinding machines or similar machining equipment in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD files (SolidWorks preferred).
- Familiarity with CNC programming concepts such as Fanuc controls, CNC lathe, CNC milling machines, and CNC programming principles.
- Skilled in using measuring tools like calipers, micrometers, and gauges for quality control.
- Basic math skills for calculating dimensions, tolerances, and machine adjustments accurately.
- Knowledge of blueprint reading and manufacturing standards to produce exact components.
- Ability to work with hand tools, power tools and assembly tools safely.
- Understanding of lean manufacturing principles to promote efficiency and waste reduction in daily operations.
Pay: From $17.60 per hour
