We are recruiting for a
Full Time Withdrawal Management Worker.
This role is a vital part of our
Withdrawal Management and Treatment Services
compassionately supporting individuals withdrawing from alcohol and/or drugs. You are part of a collaborative team that ensures client safety and comfort at this early stage of their recovery. You monitor client withdrawal symptoms, administer medication as prescribed, support brief service plans and discharge plans, facilitate psychoeducational groups, and assist with ongoing service and supports. What You’ll Do
Conduct telephone screening of clients to determine program eligibility Support client intake into the program Monitor withdrawal symptoms, administer and document client medications, and alert medical professionals to any issues which impact client’s safe withdrawal Support implementation of client safety, support and/or transition plans Deliver brief,
solution-focused interventions Provide individual or group psychoeducation to enhance client motivation to change and support recovery Confidently redirect client behaviour when required, to ensure a physically and emotionally safe space for all Be responsive and compassionate to clients within the program Support safe and effective facility functioning through light cleaning and meal preparation What You’ll Bring
College diploma or certificate in the Human/Social Services field (i.e., Personal Support Worker, Social Service Worker, Human Services Worker, Addiction Worker) Minimum of 2-years combined education/experience in substance use, concurrent disorders and/or mental health settings, with residential withdrawal management experience preferred Proficient in MS Office and be familiar with databases Access to reliable transportation Able to manage frequent exposure to vicarious traumatic stress Why Join SOAR?
