Role Summary The Manufacturing Technology Specialist serves as the bridge between manufacturing operations and the technology teams that support them. This role gathers and translates business requirements, coordinates technology initiatives, and helps ensure manufacturing systems effectively support shop floor operations, user adoption, and continuous improvement.

- Connect manufacturing operations with internal technology teams and external vendors to ensure business needs are translated into effective solutions.
- Support the successful implementation, adoption, and continuous improvement of manufacturing technology platforms.
- Improve operational efficiency by identifying process improvements and coordinating technology enhancements.
- Ensure technology initiatives, support activities, and user feedback are effectively managed across multiple stakeholders.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for shop supervisors, fabricators, and estimators regarding manufacturing technology questions, issues, and enhancement requests.
- Gather, document, and communicate business requirements from manufacturing and operations stakeholders for system enhancements, fixes, and new capabilities.
- Translate shop floor requirements into clear and actionable information for internal technology teams, vendors, and support partners.
- Represent manufacturing operations in planning discussions with IT, Data & Analytics, vendors, and other technology stakeholders.
- Communicate updates, timelines, priorities, and outcomes back to end users to ensure transparency and alignment.
- Act as the coordination point between manufacturing operations and the teams responsible for supporting manufacturing systems and technology platforms.
- Track open issues, enhancement requests, implementation activities, and support priorities across multiple teams.
- Support prioritization of the manufacturing technology roadmap and backlog in partnership with Digital Manufacturing and technology leadership.
- Coordinate user acceptance testing, training schedules, and go-live readiness activities for new systems and enhancements.
- Support the development and delivery of training materials and user enablement resources.
- Collect, triage,
and communicate user feedback following implementations and system changes.
- Identify recurring process challenges, user pain points, and operational inefficiencies and bring improvement opportunities forward to the appropriate teams.
- Maintain an understanding of manufacturing technology roadmaps, system capabilities, and platform limitations.
- Contribute operational perspectives to system configuration, process design, and technology prioritization decisions.
Must Haves:
- 3–5+ years of experience in a Business Analyst, Systems Liaison, Technology Coordinator, Product Owner, or similar role supporting manufacturing, ERP, MES, or operational technology systems.
- Working knowledge of manufacturing and ERP concepts including MRP, work orders, bills of materials (BOMs), inventory management, and production workflows.
- Strong ability to gather, document, and communicate business requirements to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience coordinating priorities and activities across business users, technology teams, and external vendors.
- Strong stakeholder management, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to operate as a coordinator and business liaison rather than a technical developer or support specialist.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, requests, and implementation activities simultaneously.
- Ability to travel periodically to manufacturing facilities to maintain a firsthand understanding of operations.
Nice to Haves:
- Familiarity with Epicor or a comparable mid-market or enterprise ERP platform, particularly MRP and inventory management processes.
- Experience with SolidWorks or comparable modeling and detailing platforms from a user, administrator, or functional support perspective.
- Exposure to warehouse management systems (WMS) implementations or inventory technology initiatives.
- Experience working in industrial manufacturing or production environments.
- Experience working alongside IT service desks, application support teams, software vendors, or implementation partners.
- Experience supporting technology rollouts, user adoption initiatives, or business process improvements within manufacturing operations
