JOB STATEMENT:
The Associate, North American Events (Bilingual – English/French) is responsible for the strategy, planning, execution, and evaluation of client and intermediary-facing events across Canada and the United States. This role is focused on delivering premium event experiences that strengthen relationships with investment management clients, financial advisors, consultants, and distribution partners, while elevating the firm's brand and business objectives.
The successful candidate combines exceptional event management expertise with strong stakeholder engagement skills, a client-first mindset, and the ability to operate effectively in both English and French. Working closely with Investment Management, Sales, Marketing, Product, and Executive teams, this individual will lead end-to-end event delivery across conferences, roadshows, client seminars, advisor education programs, sponsorships, and virtual events.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Event Strategy & Planning
- Execute and project manage a North American events strategy aligned with business priorities, client engagement objectives, and brand standards.
- Plan and manage a portfolio of events for investment management clients, financial advisors, institutional investors, consultants, and intermediary partners.
- Identify opportunities to enhance client experiences and drive greater engagement through innovative event formats and content.
- Establish event objectives, key performance indicators, and success metrics.
- Event Management & Execution
- Lead the end-to-end planning and delivery of in-person, hybrid, and virtual events across North America.
- Manage all event logistics, including venue sourcing, vendor negotiations, registration, travel coordination, production, catering, audiovisual services, and event technology.
- Ensure flawless execution and delivery of a premium client experience.
- Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and contingency plans to mitigate risk.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Work closely with Distribution teams to align event programming with business goals.
- Act as the primary point of contact for internal stakeholders and external event partners.
- Coordinate agendas for speakers and executive participation, including consolidating (but not creating) briefing materials and presentations.
- Work with distribution and advisor teams to maximize attendance and event impact.
Budget & Vendor Management
- Develop and manage event budgets and forecasts.
- Negotiate contracts with venues, suppliers, agencies, and production partners.
- Monitor expenditures and ensure efficient allocation of resources while maintaining high-quality experiences.
- Evaluate vendor performance and cultivate strategic partnerships.
Marketing & Communications Support
- Collaborate with marketing teams on event promotion, invitations, communications, registration campaigns,
and attendee engagement strategies.
- Ensure all event materials align with brand standards and regulatory requirements.
- Support post-event communications, follow-up activities, and reporting.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Event Management, Business, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience planning and executing corporate events, client events, or conferences, preferably within financial services, investment management, or wealth management.
- Demonstrated experience managing event programs across Canada and the United States.
- Experience supporting client acquisition, advisor engagement, or relationship management initiatives.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- Fully bilingual in English and French, with strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Exceptional project management and organizational capabilities.
- Strong relationship-building and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced workplace.
- Proficiency with event management platforms, CRM tools, Microsoft Office, and virtual event technologies.
- Ability to travel throughout North America as required.
COMPENSATION:
- The base salary range is expected to be between $70,000 - $90,000, with eligibility for a discretionary bonus.
