We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Math & English Academic Instructor to inspire and support students in grades 6 through 8 and beyond. Responsibilities

- Design and deliver engaging lessons in Math and English tailored to students’ grade levels and individual learning needs
- Teach concepts clearly and adapt instruction to different learning levels and needs.
- Support students in developing mathematical reasoning, problem-solving, reading, writing, grammar, vocabulary, and academic communication skills.
- Follow the BC curriculum and ensure lessons are appropriate for students' grade levels.
- Prepare learning activities, exercises, and supplementary materials.
- Monitor students' progress and provide constructive feedback.
- Create a positive, respectful, and supportive learning environment.
- Collaborate with parents, guardians, and colleagues to monitor student development and address any challenges.
- Maintain an organized and positive classroom workplace.
- Assess student progress regularly and adjust teaching strategies accordingly to ensure academic growth
- Provide targeted support for students with special education needs, adapting materials and methods as necessary




- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress reports, and lesson plansExperience

Required Qualifications & Experience

- Bachelor's degree or higher in Education, Mathematics, English, English Language Teaching, or a related field, or equivalent relevant education.
- Demonstrated experience teaching or tutoring both Mathematics and English to students in Grades 6-12.
- At least 2 years of relevant teaching or tutoring experience is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Grade 6–12 Mathematics.
- Strong knowledge of English language, reading, writing, grammar, vocabulary, and academic communication.
- Experience planning and delivering lessons independently.
- Ability to work effectively with students with different academic levels and learning needs.
- Excellent communication, organization, patience, and classroom-management skills.
- Strong English communication skills.
- A Criminal Record Check appropriate for working with children will be required before beginning employment.
- Two professional references, preferably from previous teaching, tutoring, academic, or supervisory positions.

Hours: Minimum of 7* hours per week*; exact schedule to be determined based on program needs and enrollment.

Hourly Rate: $20.30 to 23/hour

Start Date: October 2026, subject to student enrollment.

Hours: A minimum of approximately 7 hours per week is anticipated once the program begins; however, the actual number of hours and start date will depend on student enrollment and program needs. The position may be postponed if sufficient enrollment is not reached.

Please note: Mind Spring Academy is currently accepting registrations for the upcoming program. This position is conditional on sufficient student enrollment. The program is planned to begin in October 2026, but the start date and available hours may change depending on enrollment.

On-Call Instructor

Mind Spring Academy is also looking for an on-call instructor who can provide occasional coverage when the regular instructor is unavailable.

The on-call instructor should have similar qualifications and experience teaching both Mathematics and English to Grades 6–8/12 students and should have reasonable availability during after-school hours.
