Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Mathematics Teacher to inspire students and foster a love for learning in the classroom. As a Mathematics Teacher, you will create an engaging learning setting that encourages critical thinking, problem-solving, and enthusiasm for math across various age groups and skill levels.
Duties
- Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards in mathematics and related subjects such as algebra, geometry, calculus, and statistics.
- Deliver engaging lessons that cater to different learning styles, including visual, auditory, and kinesthetic approaches.
- Assess student progress through tests, quizzes, projects, and class participation; provide constructive feedback to support growth.
- Foster a positive classroom environment that promotes respect, collaboration, and active participation among students.
- Utilize technology tools such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) to enhance lesson delivery and student engagement.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and behavioral observations using organizational skills and computer proficiency.
- Collaborate with colleagues and special education staff to adapt teaching methods for students with disabilities or additional learning needs.
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding student progress and areas for improvement.
Requirements
- Proven classroom experience teaching mathematics at various educational levels.
- Strong knowledge of math concepts including algebra, geometry, calculus, and statistics.
- Excellent communication skills in English; proficiency in French or Spanish is a plus for bilingual classrooms.
- Experience working with children or individuals with disabilities; understanding of special education practices is preferred.
- Bilingual ability (English plus French or Spanish) is highly desirable to support diverse student populations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications—Word, PowerPoint, Excel—and general computer skills for lesson planning and record keeping.
- Demonstrated leadership qualities along with strong organizational skills to manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
- Ability to apply time management techniques to meet deadlines while maintaining high-quality instruction.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or in inclusive settings is advantageous.
