About Meadows Church
Meadows Church believes in doing church differently. We gather Sunday nights over a meal and discussion, we believe that our church is missionally called to its local community (Langley Meadows and Langley Meadows Community School), and we let faith grow out of doing real life together.
We were born out of a backyard daycamp, and a few years later, that ministry became a church. We exist to be a lighthouse of love, hope, and joy for Langley Meadows and beyond — a young and vibrant community of young families, young adults, and seniors, gathering for dinner and a casual style of church at Langley Meadows Community School. As our church grows, so does our commitment to creating opportunities to engage our community, through basketball and soccer programs, service nights, and a Sunday gathering that welcomes our neighbourhood in four languages.
Role Summary
We're looking for a leader who does youth ministry the way Meadows does ministry: showing up, building relationships, and letting faith grow out of real life. Someone who takes initiative and goes first — starting conversations, pursuing students outside of scheduled events, and creating momentum rather than waiting for it. Someone who is an evangelist at heart, energized by helping a young person encounter Jesus for the first time.
There's a growing group of teenagers at Meadows — some who came up through our daycamps and are ready for what's next, others finding us through outreach in the community, and still others that have a growing and vibrant faith. This role is here to help teens wherever they are to their next step toward Jesus.
Primary ResponsibilitiesBuilding relationship with students
- Show up consistently in students' lives where they already are — at school events, games, and the everyday places life happens — building trust by being present in their world
- Pursue real relationship with youth beyond scheduled programming, initiating connection rather than waiting for it
- Be a consistent, trusted presence that students can count on week to week
Leading youth ministry
- Grow an engaging youth ministry that reaches both youth connected to Meadows and youth from the wider community, and helps them belong together
- Plan and lead Youth Discussions during our Sunday Night service
- Recruit, train, and develop volunteers to build a team that shares the load and multiplies relationships
Connecting to the wider community
- Be actively involved in our community soccer daycamp and other outreach that brings youth in
- Work hand-in-hand with NLCC's Willowbrook campus on shared youth nights through the December 2026 commitment
- Be a blessing to Langley Meadows Community School — showing up as a positive, trusted presence in a place that's part of who we are
- Be a familiar, engaged presence in Meadows Church life and Sunday gatherings
Growth & Support This role is supported through regular mentorship from the Campus Pastor, with encouragement and coaching to grow as a ministry leader.
There's room to grow the position here — as Meadows develops, this role could expand in hours and scope over time as current ministry needs emerge.
Qualifications
- Follows Jesus wholeheartedly, and naturally points others toward Him — meeting people thoughtfully wherever they are
- Loves working with middle school and high school students, and believes these years matter deeply
- An evangelist at heart, energized by helping young people take their first steps of faith and beyond
- Takes initiative and follows through — a self-starter who makes things happen
- Committed to being a regular, present part of the Langley Meadows community (living nearby makes this easier, but isn't required)
- Must affirm the BCMB Confession of Faith
- Experience working or volunteering with youth is an asset
