About the Position

John’s Sausage Shop is a small, family-run business looking for a dependable, hardworking team member to help with our daily sausage and meat-processing operations. This is a hands-on position in a fast-paced environment where teamwork, cleanliness, food safety, and attention to detail are important.

Key Responsibilities

- Grind and prepare meat according to shop recipes and procedures
- Load and operate meat grinders and sausage-making equipment
- Prepare and stuff sausage casings
- Twist and portion sausage into individual links
- Package, label, and organize finished sausage products
- Assist with daily cleanup of the production area
- Wash, sanitize, and properly store equipment, tools, and work surfaces
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and sanitary throughout the day
- Assist with end-of-day cleanup and shutdown procedures
- Follow food-safety and workplace-safety procedures
- Assist with general shop duties as needed
- Work efficiently and cooperatively as part of a small, family-oriented team

Physical Requirements
- Ability to regularly lift and move boxes and product weighing up to 60 lbs




- Ability to stand and work on your feet for extended periods
- Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, carrying, and repetitive hand movements
- Comfortable working in a meat-processing environment and around refrigerated areas
- Able to perform cleaning and sanitation duties as part of the regular workday

Qualifications
- Previous meat-processing, food-production, butcher-shop, or sausage-making experience is an asset, but training can be provided
- Reliable and punctual
- Solid work ethic and positive attitude
- Willing to perform both production and cleaning duties
- Able to follow instructions and work independently
- Good attention to detail
- Comfortable working as part of a small team
- Commitment to cleanliness and food safety
