I am currently recruiting for a Mechanical Engineering Technician to join a technology-driven company specializing in solutions for the optics and electronics sectors, located in Kirkland. Mission
Your Role In this role, you will work in an R&D; environment, where your machining expertise and attention to detail will be used to develop high-precision tools, components and equipment.
Your responsibilities will include
Operating manual machine tools, including manual lathes and milling machines. Operating CNC equipment as required by projects. Manufacturing and modifying high-precision components and tooling for optical and production applications.
Performing hands-on assembly, fitting and machining work. Reading and interpreting technical drawings. Creating or modifying technical drawings using SolidWorks. Working closely with R&D;, engineering and laboratory teams to develop solutions based on project requirements.
Performing precise hands-on work in different optical and electronic laboratory environments. Following all safety procedures and requirements related to machine tool operation.
Working Conditions
Permanent position in a technology-driven R&D; environment. Work focused primarily on precision, quality and tooling development,
rather than high-volume production. Multidisciplinary environment combining mechanical, optical and electronic applications. Opportunity to leverage your machining expertise across a variety of technical projects. Located in Kirkland, Montreal. Your profile
Technical or university-level training in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Mechanics, Machining or a related field. Hands-on experience as a Machinist, particularly with manual machine tools. Strong experience operating a manual lathe and milling machine. CNC machining experience is an asset. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
Experience using SolidWorks for technical drawings or design is a strong asset. Highly detail-oriented, precise and comfortable performing hands-on precision work. Robust problem-solving skills, autonomy and attention to quality. Comfortable working in an R&D; environment without high-volume production pressure.
Experienced machinists, including those later in their careers who are looking to bring their expertise into an R&D; environment, are also encouraged to apply.
