Empower Black youth as the Black Achievers Mentorship Coordinator at the YMCA in Scarborough. This full time role is integral to expanding mentorship opportunities within the community.
As a key member of the YMCA Employment and Community Team, you will support the Black Achievers mentorship program's growth. This role requires building relationships with community partners and ensuring mentor recruitment reflects the diversity within Black communities. You will also play a vital part in mentor training and coordinating experiences that support youth mentoring.
Key Responsibilities:
• Execute mentor recruitment aligned with program goals • Build partnerships with corporate and grassroots organizations • Coordinate training sessions focusing on youth engagement • Ensure effective mentor-mentee matching • Monitor participation and track engagement outcomes
Requirements: • Background in Social Work or Community Development • 2-3 years of experience in volunteer/mentor coordination • Understanding of systemic barriers affecting Black youth • Strong organizational and program coordination skills • Excellent communication abilities and flexible availability
