Schedule: 8am-8pm and 8pm-8am (12 hour shifts)

Salary Or Wage: $29.76 - $31.64 per hour * plus applicable shift premiums

List of Requirements Qualifications

High school completion required

1 Year Employment Experience

Knowledge of the Housing First model and harm reduction practices

Familiarity with mental health, addiction services, and community resources

Successful Vulnerable Sector Check and/or Criminal Record Check required

Skills

Basic understanding of street culture

Reliable, responsive, and supportive team member

Demonstrates excellent communication and active listening skills

Demonstrates concise and ethical documenting skills

Ability to handle sensitive information and maintain client confidentiality

Demonstrates understanding of emergency response protocol

Ability to remain alert and perform tasks in a demanding environment

Ability to remain calm and responsive during crisis incident response

Contributes to a culturally safe workplace





Working Condition and Physical Requirements

12-hour night shifts in a temporary shelter environment

Attends to medical emergencies including overdoses, injuries, and mental health crises

Navigates stairs and uses cleaning products and equipment

Safely lifts up to 50lbs

Collaborates as part of a team with high expectations for accountability, inclusivity, and respect

List of Duties

The Support Worker provides front-line, direct support to shelter clients by assisting with daily living activities, responding to immediate needs, and promoting safety, dignity, and inclusion.

Working collaboratively with Lift staff, the role contributes to a respectful, team-based environment by sharing information, supporting harm-reduction practices, and communicating safety concerns in accordance with established policies and procedures.

Reports to: Housing Services Manager
