Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and friendly Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing administrative tasks in a fast-paced medical environment. This role is vital in ensuring smooth operations at the front desk and maintaining effective communication between patients and healthcare providers.

Responsibilities

- Manage phone systems to handle incoming calls, schedule appointments, and respond to inquiries.
- Make outgoing calls to existing and referral patients to schedule appointments.
- Maintain accurate patient records using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems, such as Epic.
- Verify patient information and insurance details prior to appointments.
- Assist with administrative duties including filing, data entry, and managing correspondence.
- Ensure the front desk area is organized and welcoming for patients.
- Communicate effectively with medical staff regarding patient needs and appointment schedules.




- Utilize medical terminology to facilitate clear communication with both patients and healthcare providers.

Experience

- Previous experience in a medical or dental office setting is preferred.
- Familiarity with phone systems and front desk operations is essential.
- Strong administrative skills, including proficiency in office software and electronic medical records management.
- Knowledge of medical terminology is highly desirable.
- Experience as a ophthalmology receptionist or in a similar role will be considered an asset.
