As our organization continues to grow, we are seeking an experienced Metal/Weld Shop Supervisor to lead our metal fabrication and welding operations.

Position

Summary The Metal/Weld Shop Supervisor is responsible for the daily leadership, coordination, and performance of the Metal Fabrication and Welding departments. This role ensures the safe, efficient, and high-quality production of transformer tanks, components, assemblies, and fabricated structures while meeting production schedules, quality standards, and customer requirements. Key Responsibilities

Production &

- Welding Operations Supervise daily fabrication, welding, fitting, grinding, and painting operations

Coordinate manpower, materials, and equipment to achieve production schedules and targets

Manage and optimize production flow to improve efficiency and productivity

Ensure work complies with engineering drawings, specifications, welding procedures, and applicable CWB requirements

Maintain accurate documentation of welding and fabrication activities Leadership &

- Employee Development Lead, coach, train,



and provide day-to-day guidance to Metal/Weld Shop employees

Conduct employee performance reviews and disciplinary processes when required

Establish and maintain a certified welding skills matrix

Train employees on proper welding techniques, materials, equipment, and fabrication processes

Maintain positive employee relationships and promote a collaborative workplace culture Quality, Safety &

- Continuous Improvement Act as the primary liaison between the Metal Shop, Engineering, Quality, and other production departments

Ensure compliance with company health and safety policies, procedures, and training requirements

Lead process optimization, Lean Manufacturing, and 5S initiatives

Identify opportunities to improve productivity, quality, workflow, and overall shop performance Qualifications &

- Skills

Education &

Experience Postsecondary education in Manufacturing, Welding, or a related field preferred

7–10 years of fabrication and welding experience

5–7 years of supervisory or leadership experience within a manufacturing workplace

Knowledge of CWB standards and certification requirements considered a strong asset

Relevant CWB certifications considered an asset Technical Skills Strong knowledge of MIG, FCAW,



and SMAW welding processes

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, and technical specifications

Knowledge of GD&T; and manufacturing tolerances

Experience with ERP/MRP systems

Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications Personal Attributes Strong leadership, coaching, and team-building abilities

Excellent organizational and production planning skills

Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities

Effective written and verbal communication skills

Strong commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement Working Conditions Manufacturing and metal fabrication environment

Regular exposure to welding, grinding, fabrication equipment, noise, and industrial operations

Frequent walking and supervision throughout production areas

Required PPE must be worn in accordance with company safety requirements Compensation &
