Role Summary
Microsoft Fabric Data Engineer (Contract) is an individual contributor who will work closely with business stakeholders and technology teams to translate business problems into data solutions by designing, building, and deploying data integrations, automation, and a SQL data warehouse in Microsoft Fabric.
Key responsibilities for this role include:
- Hands-on development and maintenance of data integrations, automation, and a SQL data warehouse in Microsoft Fabric within a defined operating model
- Apply the well-architected framework to ensure operational excellence, scalability, security, reliability, and cost effectiveness of data solutions
- Modernize legacy data pipelines, databases,
and governance by upgrading or migrating them to Microsoft Fabric
- Migrate Power BI workspaces to Microsoft Fabric
- Set up and maintain CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions
- Lead technical problem solving
- Share knowledge through documentation and knowledge transfer to other team members
- Ensure SOX compliance and follow disciplined change management practices
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of data engineering experience including Python, SQL data modeling and queries, and data pipelines orchestration
- 1+ in Microsoft Fabric including SQL data warehouse or lakehouse and Power BI integration
- Have at least one major Microsoft Fabric implementation experience
- Experience integrating a SQL data warehouse with vendor platforms and tools such as NetSuite, Oracle Fusion Cloud, Workday, ADP, and Salesforce
- Experience configuring and developing data quality monitoring, RBAC, privacy control, automation, and pipeline monitoring capabilities supporting Azure data services or Microsoft Fabric
- Experience setting up CI/CD pipelines for source code management of data integration, data warehouse, and orchestration using GitHub
Desirable Qualifications
- Hands-on development using dbt and Microsoft Azure services such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Storage, Azure SQL Database
- Hands-on development in Azure Databricks or Snowflake
