Hello ELA and Math Tutors! Ready to support students in building confidence, strengthening foundational skills, and reaching their academic goals? TutorBright is seeking dedicated individuals to join us as ELA and Math Tutor-Mentors, helping middle school and high school students succeed in English Language Arts and Mathematics. This part-time role allows you to create a flexible schedule while connecting with students through personalized in-home and/or online tutoring.

Hourly base rates for in-home tutoring start at $19/hour

Responsibilities:

- Conduct personalized tutoring sessions focused on English Language Arts, reading comprehension, writing, grammar, essay development, math concepts, problem-solving, and study skills.
- Support middle school and high school students with homework, assignments, test preparation, and confidence-building.
- Serve as a mentor and positive role model, helping students work through academic challenges and develop stronger learning habits.
- Adapt teaching strategies to match each student’s learning style, grade level, academic needs, and school expectations.

Qualifications:

- Strong proficiency in English Language Arts and/or Mathematics for middle school and high school levels.
- Previous tutoring, teaching, mentoring, or youth-support experience is considered an asset.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Dedication to creating a positive,



patient, and encouraging learning setting.
- Ability to explain concepts clearly and adjust support based on each student’s needs.

Requirements:

- Ability to provide in-home and online tutoring.
- Must be located in Winnipeg, preferably in or near the Southeast Winnipeg/St. Vital area.
- Reliable transportation for in-home tutoring.
- Current or willingness to obtain a vulnerable sector police check.

Additional Assets:

- Enrolled in or completed a Bachelor’s degree program.
- Graduate of or currently enrolled in a B.Ed., B.A., B.Sc., B.Math., or related program.
- Certified Teacher.
- Experience supporting students in middle school or high school.
- Comfortable tutoring both English Language Arts and Math.
