The Milker / Dairy Farm Worker is responsible for the safe, efficient, and consistent milking of the herd three times per day, while maintaining a clean and healthy environment for the cows.

You take pride in your work, follow farm policies and protocols, and understand that consistency and attention to detail are critical to producing high-quality milk and maintaining excellent animal care.

Key Responsibilities

Milking

- Milk cows three times per day according to the farm's established milking schedule.
- Follow all milking procedures and protocols consistently.
- Properly prepare cows for milking, including udder preparation and teat sanitation.
- Ensure milking equipment is used correctly and safely.
- Monitor cows during milking and identify cows requiring attention.
- Follow all procedures related to milk quality, udder health, and hygiene.
- Identify and report abnormal milk, mastitis, injuries, illness, or other health concerns to the appropriate farm manager.
- Ensure all cows are handled calmly and respectfully.

Barn & Cow Care

- Keep stalls clean, dry, and properly bedded.
- Push up and maintain access to fresh feed for cows.
- Maintain clean and accessible waterers.
- Keep alleys, holding areas, and work areas clean.
- Assist with general cow care and movement as required.
- Report any animal health, equipment, or facility issues promptly.

Cleaning & Sanitation

- Wash down the parlour and surrounding areas after each milking.
- Complete all required cleaning and sanitation procedures for the milking equipment.
- Maintain a clean and organized parlour, holding area, and milk room.
- Follow all farm cleaning and biosecurity protocols.
- Ensure cleaning products and equipment are used according to established procedures.

Following Farm Policies & Procedures

- Follow all Three Corner Dairy policies,



protocols, and standard operating procedures.
- Complete required records and communicate important information between shifts.
- Follow animal health and treatment protocols.
- Follow workplace health and safety procedures.
- Maintain a qualified and respectful working environment.
- Complete assigned tasks before leaving the shift and communicate any outstanding issues to the next employee or manager.

Qualifications & Skills

- Previous dairy farm or milking experience is an asset but training will be provided.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Comfortable working with dairy cattle.
- Physically capable of performing repetitive farm and cleaning duties.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Willing to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by a 3X milking schedule.
- Ability to follow established procedures and protocols consistently.
- Good communication skills and a positive attitude.
