Millwright (Plant Utilities Maintenance Person)

City of Prince Albert | Permanent Full time The City of Prince Albert is seeking an experienced Journeyman Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) to join our Public Works team. This role is responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of mechanical equipment and rotating assets within the City's water and wastewater treatment facilities.

As a key member of the team, you will help ensure the reliable operation of critical infrastructure, including pumps, motors, gearboxes, valves, mixers, chemical feed systems, and other mechanical process equipment that support essential municipal services.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on mechanical equipment.
- Troubleshoot equipment failures and implement effective repair solutions.
- Install, inspect, service, and maintain pumps, valves, motors, and rotating machinery.
- Participate in equipment upgrades, retrofits, and commissioning projects.
- Respond to mechanical breakdowns and emergency situations.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
- Work collaboratively with operations, maintenance staff, contractors, and vendors.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, policies, and procedures.





Qualifications:

- Grade 12 diploma or equivalent.
- Journeyman Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) Certificate recognized by the Province of Saskatchewan.
- Valid Driver's License.
- Minimum 3-5 years of millwright experience in industrial, water/wastewater, or similar heavy mechanical environments.
- Experience working with pumps, motors, gearboxes, valves, chemical systems, and other process equipment.
- Ability to read technical manuals, blueprints, and P&IDs.;
- Strong troubleshooting, organizational, and communication skills.

Special Conditions

- Security background check required.
- Exposure to weather conditions, noise, chemicals, confined spaces, and rotating equipment.
- Physical demands include lifting, climbing, bending, and working with tools and mechanical systems.
- Participation in required safety training and job-related courses.
