A. Position Overview and Strategic Impact This Moodle Administrator role is critical to the daily educational operations of our downtown Vancouver college. The successful candidate will take ownership of the Learning Management System (LMS), ensuring a seamless, stable, and secure online learning environment for our faculty, administrative staff, and student body during their scheduled hours.

B. Core Operational Responsibilities

- User Lifecycle Management: Oversee the complete user journey, including secure account provisioning, cohort assignment, role-based permissions management, and secure offboarding at the end of academic terms.
- Course Architecture and Design: Collaborate with academic staff to structure course pages, configure assignment modules, establish grading frameworks, and ensure a standardized, user-friendly interface across all programs.
- Targeted Technical Support: Act as the primary escalation point for LMS-related inquiries, resolving technical bottlenecks for instructors and providing documented guidance to administrative teams to improve overall user adoption.

C. System Maintenance and Compliance

- Platform Security and Privacy:



Implement and monitor strict data security protocols to ensure all student records, grades, and activities remain fully compliant with institutional privacy standards and operational regulations.
- Routine Upgrades and Audits: Manage scheduled Moodle core updates, safely evaluate and deploy necessary third-party plugins, run routine database backups, and monitor overall system health to prevent operational downtime.

D. Required Qualifications and Technical Expertise

- Demonstrated Moodle Mastery: Extensive hands-on experience managing backend Moodle operations, specifically within a higher education, college, or structured academic environment.
- Technical Troubleshooting: Strong analytical skills to diagnose complex LMS errors, maintain essential integrations (such as Student Information Systems or video conferencing tools), and utilize basic HTML, CSS, and PHP to customize and optimize interface elements.

Pay: $18.25-$20.00 per hour
