We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Museum Assistant & Archives Coordinator to join our vibrant team. This role offers an exciting prospect to support the daily operations of our museum and archives, ensuring the preservation, organization, and accessibility of our collections. You will play a key role in engaging visitors, managing archival materials, and contributing to educational initiatives.

Responsibilities
- Assist visitors by providing information, guiding tours, and delivering excellent customer service to enhance their museum experience.
- Support the care and preservation of collections by organizing, cataloging, and maintaining accurate records within databases.
- Manage archival materials by implementing metadata standards for efficient retrieval and long-term preservation.
- Oversee the organization of storage areas, ensuring collections are stored securely and systematically.
- Lead educational activities, workshops, or tours to engage diverse audiences and promote understanding of the collection’s significance.
- Collaborate with team members on projects related to collection development, research initiatives, and exhibitions.
- Maintain detailed documentation of all activities,
including accession records, condition reports, and inventory updates using project management tools.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working with databases related to collections management or archives.
- Strong understanding of metadata standards for cataloging archival materials.
- Excellent research skills with the ability to accurately document historical information.
- Demonstrated leadership qualities in managing projects or supervising volunteers or interns.
- Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail in recordkeeping and storage procedures.
- Effective communication skills for teaching audiences and collaborating with team members.
- Prior experience in customer service within a cultural or educational setting is highly desirable.
- Writing skills that support clear documentation, reports, and educational content.
