Music Instructor Job Summary

Music Instructors at Oak Learners provide weekly music lessons to individuals and/or groups of students in the disciplines of Piano, Guitar, Ukulele, Drums & Percussion,

Early Music Education, Vocal Music, Music Composition & More. Music Instructors are part-time employees at Oak Learners and work with other members of the Music

Department to design and deliver engaging and individualized music lessons.

Main Duties

● Guide and foster students in private Music instruction





● Provide an exciting and enriching music education experience

● Include technique coaching for Intermediate & Advanced Students

● Prepare students for winter/spring performances

● Maintain regular communication with parents about their child’s progress through Lesson Reflections and in-person feedback

● Help students develop self-confidence through musical development and performance

Preferred Experience/Skills

● Degree or Diploma in Music or related field

● Experience working with young students and/or students with different learning styles

● Previous experience in private music instruction (min. 1 year)

● Multi-instrumentalist (an asset)

● Performance Background preferred

● Strong communication skills to collaborate with parents and staff

Required Skills

● Ability to work with people from various disciplines and cultures

● Ability to problem solve

● Time management and organizational skills.

● Ability to assume responsibility, prioritize tasks and meet deadlines

● Ability to work with minimal supervision
