Full Description

Hiredbuddy is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Network Engineer to join our growing IT infrastructure team. This is a fully remote, entry-level position ideal for recent graduates or individuals with 0-2 years of experience who are eager to build a career in networking. You will be responsible for assisting in the design, implementation, and maintenance of our network systems, ensuring reliable and secure connectivity across our distributed workforce.

Key Responsibilities

- Assist in configuring, deploying, and managing network devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues related to connectivity, latency, and packet loss using tools like Wireshark, SolarWinds, or similar.
- Support the implementation of network security measures, including VLAN segmentation, access control lists (ACLs), and VPN configurations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure network infrastructure aligns with organizational needs and growth.
- Document network diagrams, configurations, and standard operating procedures.
- Participate in on-call rotation and respond to network incidents in a timely manner.
- Assist in the evaluation and deployment of recent networking technologies and tools.
- Maintain inventory of network hardware and software licenses.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- Foundational understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and subnetting.
- Familiarity with routing protocols such as OSPF or BGP is a plus.
- Experience with Cisco, Juniper,



or Aruba networking equipment (CCNA or similar certification is advantageous).
- Basic knowledge of network security principles and firewall management.
- Solid problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for remote collaboration.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote environment.

Preferred Skills
- Exposure to cloud networking (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) and virtual networking concepts.
- Experience with network automation tools like Ansible, Python, or Terraform.
- Understanding of VoIP and unified communications.
- Prior internship or lab experience in a networking environment.
