Your Chance:
If you are a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) who is looking to practice within a large and diverse neonatal program, Alberta Health Services (AHS) has an exciting opportunity for you! You will be working as part of a NNP team that practices within a dynamic interdisciplinary healthcare team. The Calgary Corridor Neonatal Intensive Care Program operates at five sites – the Foothills Medical Centre, Alberta Children’s Hospital, Rockyview General Hospital, Peter Lougheed Center and South Health Campus. We are looking for applicants who have effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders and who work collaboratively with patients and families as partners in care. This position will primarily support the Rockyview General Hospital Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (RGH NICU), a 25 bed, level 2 unit located in Calgary, Alberta. Critically ill neonates from Southern Alberta receive lifesaving care in this fast paced and constantly evolving environment that is supported by a large multidisciplinary team. A significant part of care provided in the RGH NICU is focused on feeding progression and preparation for discharge home. The NNP provides specialized care and management of neonates, particularly those who are premature, require resuscitation and stabilization. The NNP provides advanced clinical skills, makes critical management decisions, and facilitates consistent family-centered care as a member of a multi-disciplinary team. The NNP participates in program committees, quality improvement, and research initiatives to promote evidence-informed practice for program clients. The NNP also provides education to AHS personnel delivering neonatal care through organizational sessions, such as NRP and simulation.
This position works primarily 33 day shifts and 5 night shifts in an 8 week shift cycle.
