$35.57 to $38.70 per hour-Plus an Inmate Training Differential allowance of 7% and a Correctional Service Specific Duty Allowance of $2,140 per year-allowances may be subject to change

Duties
Provision of plumbing maintenance services for the occupants and staff of Correctional Service of Canada institutions, in systems such as: hot water heating, chilled water, low pressure steam, potable water, sanitary piping, compressed air lines, sprinklers and storm sewer services.Supervision and training of inmates.

Intent of the process

Valid Driver’s License.
Requirement to lift and carry items weighing up to 23 kg.
Willingness to work with and/or instruct inmates.

EDUCATION
A secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

Possession of a valid Interprovincial Journeyperson Plumber Certification.

Experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of water, sewage, plumbing and various piping systems and lines in a manufacturing, industrial or institutional workplace.Experience interpreting and applying safety precautions and practices associated with plumbing work.

Ability to communicate effectively in writing
Ability to communicate effectively orally

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS
Successful completion of any continuing education courses relevant to facility maintenance or workplace safety, such as: British Columbia Water and Waste Association (BCWWA) Certification in Cross Connection Control (CCC), Small Water Systems (SWS), Small Wastewater Systems (SWWS), Chlorine handling, etc.

Experience supervising individuals.
Experience training individuals.
Experience working in a correctional or institutional facility.





Ability to provide instruction on the use of plumbing equipment and tools.
