Position Overview The occupational therapist for the Mental Health and Substance Abuse Day Program plays a central role in coordinating clients’ functional recovery journeys.

Primary Responsibilities

- Coordination of functional recovery
- Specialized occupational therapy assessment
- Interdisciplinary collaboration
- Clinical intervention

As part of their duties, the occupational therapist may also be called upon to provide clinical support to the CRSMT’s Mental Health and Substance Use Program. In this capacity, the incumbent may be required to work at various sites, depending on organizational needs. Interventions may also take place in the community and at clients’ homes.



The incumbent must therefore be able to travel regularly throughout the service area.

PERMANENT FULL-TIME POSITION, day shift and some evenings

Occupational therapist salary in accordance with the OPSEU collective bargaining agreement

Criminal Check

As a pre-condition of employment:

- All recent HGH employees will be required to obtain and provide a satisfactory Police Records Check dated within six (6) months from the date of issue.

What we are looking for

- Master’s degree in occupational therapy
- Member in good standing of the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario
- Training or experience in mental health (a major asset)
- Training and/or experience in addictions and co-occurring disorders (a major asset)
- Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle for travel required within the community and to clients’ homes
- Fluency in French and English
- Good attendance record
- Demonstrate a positive attitude consistent with HGH’s values
- Satisfactory review of employee file by Human Resources.
