Job DetailsDescriptionMobile Preventative Maintenance Yard MechanicThe Mobile Preventative Maintenance Yard Mechanic is responsible for servicing/repairing buses at various SOUTHLAND yards in a safe, efficient, and effective manner.SOUTHLAND is currently offering a $3,000 hiring bonus for Mobile Mechanics - receive $1,500 after 6 months and the remaining $1,500 following one year of employment.The shift for this position is Monday through Friday, from 6:00 am to 2:30 pm.DutiesOngoing maintenance/repair of busesTravel between multiple yards to perform preventative maintenance schedulingDiagnose equipment problemsSpring and winter maintenanceComplete all documentation associated with equipment repairsWork with shop management to maintain schedules and prioritiesFollow SOUTHLAND procedures and guidelinesRequirementsMust hold a valid Journeyperson Ticket (either Heavy Duty or Automotive); 4th-year apprentices will also be consideredOwn hand toolsFluent in written and spoken English2 – 5 years related experienceValid driver’s license (class 2 or 3 considered an asset)CVIP (Commercial Vehicle Inspection Program) License is considered an assetExposure to working on diesel enginesAnalytical and troubleshooting skillsAbility to comprehend/operate diagnostic and manual measuring tools, including micrometers, brake drum gauge, Ohmmeters, and AVR (Amps, Volts & Resistors)Computer proficiencyRemunerationJourneyperson Rate - $42.50 per hour (Automotive) or $45.00 per hour (Heavy Duty)Bi-weekly pay period (every second Friday)Employee Perks Plan (after 3-month probation)Group Registered Retirement Savings (RRSP) Plan (available after 12 months)Annual Tool and Boot Allowance (pro-rated from start date - available in the last quarter of the year, and each subsequent year)#ZRHP#J-18808-Ljbffr
