Capitalize on your health expertise as the L'nu Health Lead with Cape Breton University in Nova Scotia. This full-time role focuses on reducing health inequities within L'nu communities through collaboration and cultural integration.
Joining Unama'ki College, the successful candidate will work on health promotion initiatives to improve well-being for both community members and those off-reserve. This role necessitates engaging with Elders and community members while enhancing the training of Mi’kmaw health professionals. Your leadership will be pivotal in fostering L’nu self-governance and health research capacity.
Key Responsibilities:
• Engage and consult with Elders and community members
• Build relationships with L’nu communities across Nova Scotia
• Implement activities that promote health and wellness
• Collaborate with MINES on health education initiatives
• Report on initiatives’ progress annually
Requirements:
• L’nu descent or strong community ties
• Fluency in Mi’kmaw is preferred
• Minimum undergraduate degree in Health Science
• Demonstrated health expertise and cultural knowledge
• Solid communication and leadership abilities
