Position Overview
Seasonal duties include Spring Launch, Fall Haul-outs, block and trailer boats, travel lift operation, shrink wrapping and shrink wrap removal. This role is also responsible for yard and ground maintenance, docks and buildings on the property.
Essential Job Functions
- Preserve a safe work environment by removing hazardous material throughout the marina
- Perform circle checks on vehicles and equipment
- Haul out and launch boats using heavy equipment (travel lift, hydraulic trailers, forklifts, tractors)
- Block and trailer boats
- Train and advise employees in the crew
Job Requirements:
- Must have 3 years’ experience in the marine or similar industry and must possess sound leadership skills
- Must have Travel Lift operator experience
- Must be available to work flexible schedule Monday through Sunday
- Experience in the marine industry is an asset including working knowledge of boats and marine systems
- A or AZ license is an asset
- Possession of a valid G license and clean driver’s abstract
- Experience with operating skid steer and other heavy equipment an asset
- Pleasure Craft Operators card an asset
- Forklift Certification and Travel Lift Certifications an asset
- Valid First Aid Certification as an asset
- Knowledge of nautical terminology or the ability to learn quickly
- Must possess superior customer service skills
- Must work well as a team and individually in a professional manor.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Must be detail-oriented and demonstrate a high degree of accuracy
- Ability to swim and tread water for two minutes is an asset
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- CSA approved Safety Shoes
Working Conditions
- Required to move, lift, carry, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50lbs without assistance
- Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period or for an entire shift
- Ability to stand, sit, walk, bend, twist, reach, and pull for extended periods
- Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting and pulling
- Move over sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces
- Exposure to varying weather conditions
- Exposure to loud engine/equipment noise
- Exposure to fuel odors and hazardous substances

Pay: $28.00-$34.00 per hour
