MEGlobal Canada ULC is seeking an Operations Technician to work in a highly participative, self-managed team environment at our Prentiss site, located near Red Deer, Alberta.

We are looking for an individual who is hardworking, enthusiastic and who works well in a team environment. The successful candidate will work rotating 12-hour shifts (including nights and weekends, outside and inside) to support the safe, sustainable operation of our Ethylene Glycol petrochemical facility. This role reports to the Production Leader.

Principal Responsibilities

- Follows Operating Discipline principles, procedures and practices to ensure safe and efficient operation of assigned plant areas.
- Operates and field checks process equipment.
- Monitor process conditions, equipment and control systems.
- Perform tasks assigned to Operations as per Master Task List (field checks, equipment preparation, equipment isolation, sample collection, EH&S; tasks, etc.).
- Ensures operational activities and process performance are aligned with plant and MEGlobal business goals.
- Uses trouble shooting skills to resolve process related deviations and problems.
- When required, submit valued added work requests via SAP.
- As required, initiates, and participates in root cause investigations.
- Coaches and trains others on plant operations.
- Performs crisis response activities assigned by Crisis Response Leader.
- Fulfills Operate Plant Work Process Roles such as Crisis Response Leader, PSA Focal Point, EH&S; Focal Point, Budget Focal Point, Team Assembler, Shift Engineer, Scheduler, Startup-Shutdown Coordinator, etc.
- Actively participates in on-site Emergency Response Team as required.
- Utilizes process knowledge and skills to make improvements in plant performance and operating discipline.
- Utilizes advanced automation tools to optimize plant operation and provides feedback on the effectiveness of the tools.
- Perform process equipment troubleshooting, minor repairs, improvements, and preventative maintenance,



utilizing appropriate processes and disciplines (subject to local agreements).
- Acts as Safe Work Permit Issuer, as authorized in unit safety standards.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

- Minimum ABSA 3rd Class Power Engineer’s Certificate of Competency, or successful completion of all 3rd Class examination papers.
- 0-5 years of experience
- Hydrocarbon industry experience preferred
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license
- Shows strong initiative
- Demonstrates good communication and interpersonal skills
- Works well both independently, and as a member of a team
