We are a family-owned optometry practice in Port Coquitlam looking for a friendly, confident, reliable and patient-focused Optometric Assistant to join out team. We pride ourselves on providing personalized, compassionate eye care in a welcoming environment where our patients feel like family. We are looking for someone who shares those values and enjoys building genuine relationships with patients.

As an Optometric Assistant, you will play an key role in creating a positive patient experience while supporting the optometrist(s) and the day-to-day operations of the clinic.

Responsibilities Include:

- Welcoming patients and providing warm, qualified and friendly customer service.
- Answering phones, scheduling appointments, and assisting with patient inquiries.
- Pre-testing and assisting with diagnostic procedures.
- Properly preparing and cleaning exam rooms for each patient
- Taking detailed patient histories and updating medical information.
- Educating patients on eyewear, contact lenses and eye care products.
- Helping patients select frames that suit their style and needs
- Processing payments and doing insurance submissions
- Keeping the office clean, organized and welcoming




- Supporting general administrative and reception duties

Experience

- Previous experience working in an optometry office, ophthalmology office, medical office, healthcare or optical sales is highly preferred, but we are happy to train the right person.
- Experience in retail sales or customer service roles supports effective patient engagement and product recommendations.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently at the front desk while maintaining a friendly, professional demeanor.

Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour
