With a cooperative corporate finance team and a strong commitment to continuous improvement, they are seeking a Corporate Accountant to support corporate accounting, payroll, accounts payable, and financial reporting functions at their Toronto head office.Reporting to the Manager, Corporate Accounting, this position offers the opportunity to gain broad exposure across corporate accounting operations while partnering closely with Finance and Human Resources teams in both Canada and Mexico. This is an ideal opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced public company environment and is looking to further develop their corporate accounting career.What you will achieve in this role:Support semi-monthly payroll processing, including benefits administration, RRSP adjustments, director fees, and payroll reconciliationsPrepare payroll journal entries in SAP while ensuring payroll reporting is accurate and compliantProcess payroll for expatriate employees, including tax withholdings, wire transfers, intercompany billings, and payroll documentationPartner with Human Resources to maintain payroll master data and support annual government filings including T4s and employer remittancesAdminister the Concur expense management platform, including employee setup, payment releases, e-transfer postings, and issue resolutionAssist with accounts payable processing, vendor payment proposals, payment runs, and vendor inquiries while maintaining strong financial controlsSupport month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities including accruals,
depreciation, intercompany transactions, and journal entriesPrepare reconciliations, variance analysis, trial balance reviews, and supporting schedules to ensure accurate financial reportingSupport accounting for equity-based compensation and other corporate accounting transactionsPrepare and record intercompany transactions, including transfer pricing activities and related reconciliationsReview daily banking activity and prepare journal entries as requiredAssist with internal and external audit requests while ensuring compliance with IFRS and internal control requirementsIdentify opportunities to improve accounting, payroll, and financial processes to enhance efficiency and accuracyProvide accounting support on special projects and ad hoc initiatives across the Finance teamWhat you must bring to this role:CPA designation or active pursuit of CPA designation is preferred3+ years of progressive accounting experience with exposure to corporate accounting, payroll, and accounts payableExperience working within a multi-entity corporate environmentPublic company accounting experience is highly preferred, ideally within mining, natural resources, or other publicly traded organizationsExperience managing month-end, quarter-end,
