Job Title: Saskatoon/Regina Organizing Representative
Location: Saskatoon/Regina, Saskatchewan

IUPAT District Council 17 is seeking a Full-Time Organizing Representative based in the Saskatoon or Regina region to lead unionization efforts within the construction and finishing trades. This critical role will focus on empowering non-union workers, promoting safe and fair work environments, and expanding Union representation in Saskatchewan’s construction sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build relationships with non-union workers and educate them on the benefits of Union membership
- Plan and execute strategic organizing campaigns focused on IUPAT trades
- Conduct research on contractors and projects to identify organizing opportunities
- Attend industry events and job sites to recruit members and increase awareness of IUPAT
- Maintain accurate and timely records of organizing efforts using tools like Google Sheets
- Travel regularly to worksites across the Saskatoon and Regina regions
- Work collaboratively with the IUPAT team to develop and adjust strategies based on industry needs
What We’re Looking For:
- Construction or Union experience is considered an asset
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, especially in one-on-one and group settings
- Self-starter with strong organizational and time management skills
- Familiarity with Saskatchewan labour laws and the construction industry
- Willingness to work irregular hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed
- Comfortable using technology and software tools to manage outreach activities
