As our practice continues to grow, we are looking for an experienced Orton-Gillingham / Structured Literacy Tutor to join our team.

This position is ideal for an educator or literacy professional who already has training and experience in Orton-Gillingham, Structured Literacy, or a comparable evidence-based approach to reading intervention.

Location & Caseload Tutors are assigned students within a designated geographic area whenever possible. Our goal is to build geographically concentrated caseloads rather than requiring tutors to travel throughout Vancouver. Applicants should indicate which areas of Vancouver they are available to work in.
This is an independent contractor, caseload-based position. Students are matched with tutors based on availability, location, and student needs.
Caseloads are built gradually as suitable students become available; therefore, a specific number of weekly hours cannot be guaranteed. Our goal is to develop a consistent, ongoing caseload for each tutor over time.
Tutoring is primarily in person. Some online opportunities may also be available.
Schedule
Most tutoring takes place after school on weekdays, approximately 2:30–7:30 p.m.
We are particularly interested in candidates who can commit to consistent afternoon/evening availability on multiple weekdays.
This is a caseload-based position. Hours may begin gradually and increase as students are matched based on location, availability, and instructional fit.
Compensation
$45-60 per hour, depending on qualifications, training, experience, and responsibilities.
Meetings are required.
Who We're Looking For
Beyond training and experience, we are looking for someone who is:
- Warm and encouraging with students
- Patient but maintains high expectations
- Comfortable working with students who may have experienced frustration with school
- Responsive to feedback and team-oriented in their approach
- Reliable and committed to building long-term relationships with students and families
- Interested in growing with a small, specialized tutoring practice
To Apply Please submit your resume and a brief cover letter outlining:
- Your Orton-Gillingham or Structured Literacy training
