Duties
- Conduct thorough patient assessments to identify musculoskeletal issues and develop tailored treatment strategies
- Perform manual therapy techniques such as massage, manipulation, and stretching to alleviate pain and improve mobility
- Maintain detailed case management records, including treatment plans, progress notes, and medical histories
- Educate patients on injury prevention, posture correction, and lifestyle modifications for long-term health benefits
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive patient care, especially in acute or complex cases
- Utilize medical terminology accurately when documenting patient interactions and treatment procedures
- Manage appointment schedules efficiently using Microsoft Outlook and organize patient data with Microsoft Word and Excel
Requirements
- Proven experience as an Osteopath or in a similar manual therapy role with a focus on musculoskeletal health
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology relevant to osteopathic practice
- Experience working in hospital settings or with pediatric populations is highly desirable
- Multilingual abilities or bilingual proficiency (including French) to serve diverse patient populations effectively
- Excellent communication skills to clearly explain treatment plans and foster patient trust
- Mechanical knowledge related to body mechanics and movement patterns for effective therapy application
- Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously with strong organizational skills and time management capabilities
- Familiarity with case management systems and electronic health records for accurate documentation
- Acute care experience is a plus, demonstrating ability to handle urgent or complex cases efficiently
