Duties
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including medical history review and physical examinations to identify musculoskeletal issues.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans utilizing manual therapy techniques such as spinal manipulation, soft tissue therapy, and joint mobilization.
- Educate patients on injury prevention, posture correction, and lifestyle modifications to promote long-term health benefits.
- Maintain accurate case management records, documenting patient progress and treatment outcomes with attention to detail.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including nurses, physiotherapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure cohesive patient care.
- Utilize medical terminology effectively when recording notes and communicating with colleagues or insurance providers.
- Manage time efficiently to accommodate multiple appointments while ensuring high-quality care delivery.
- Stay current with industry best practices by engaging in ongoing professional development and analysis of new treatment techniques.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as an Osteopath or in a similar manual therapy role, preferably within hospital or clinical settings.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, case management, and patient care protocols.
- Excellent communication skills in English; proficiency in French or additional languages is a plus for serving diverse populations.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel for documentation and scheduling purposes.
- Ability to demonstrate mechanical knowledge related to musculoskeletal anatomy and physiology.
- Experience working with pediatric populations or in acute care environments is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated organizational skills and time management capabilities to handle a busy caseload effectively.
