Duties
- Safely operate your own truck to transport freight to designated locations, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Load and unload cargo using forklifts or other heavy equipment as needed, ensuring proper handling and securement of freight
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and basic automotive repairs to maintain optimal truck performance and safety standards
- Manage freight documentation, including bills of lading, delivery receipts, and logs for accurate record-keeping
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, clients,
and team members to coordinate pickups and deliveries efficiently
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections to identify maintenance needs or safety issues before hitting the road
- Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations governing commercial vehicle operation
Requirements
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record
- Proven experience in commercial driving and heavy equipment operation
- Ability to operate forklifts safely and efficiently for loading/unloading freight
- Basic automotive repair skills for troubleshooting minor vehicle issues on the road
- Knowledge of freight handling procedures and safety protocols
- Strong communication skills to coordinate with clients and team members effectively
- Physical ability to lift heavy loads and perform manual tasks related to freight handling
