Seeking a dependable Paint Prep Technician to support residential exterior painting projects in Calgary and surrounding areas for the balance of the season which is anticipated until October 31, 2026 (weather dependent). Should there be internal painting projects, the season may be extended (not guaranteed).
This role will prepare homes for painting, including surface prep and cleanup, while working safely at heights. Ideal candidates are detail-oriented and physically capable, with a solid work ethic.
Key Responsibilities
- Masking exterior surfaces of homes, including windows, doors, trim, and foundations
- Power wash siding, decks, and other surfaces to prepare for painting
- Sand decks, railings, and wooden surfaces for smooth finishing
- Assist with moving supplies, minor repairs, and touch-ups
- Operate boom lift and scissor lift
- Maintain a clean and organized worksite
- Follow safety protocols at all times
Qualifications:
- Experience with paint preparation such as masking, sanding, power washing (an asset but not required)
- Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle to travel between sites in Calgary and surrounding areas. Mileage between sites will be reimbursed.
- Physically capable of lifting, bending, and standing for long periods
- Able to work at heights on a lift and ladder
- Detail-oriented with a focus on quality
- Able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Strong teamwork and communication skills Additional Details:
- Must be available to work up to 10-12 hour days, and Saturdays (as needed).
