Education

· Minimum: Secondary Education diploma or equivalent experience

Experience

· At least 1 to less than 2 years of work experience as a painter.

Duties

· Prepare commercial building surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, scraping, pressure washing, and repairing cracks, holes, and other imperfections.

· Apply paint, primers, sealers, stains, and protective coatings to interior and exterior commercial surfaces using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment.

· Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and work orders to determine project requirements.

· Measure, mix,



and match paint colors and finishes according to customer and project specifications.

· Protect floors, furniture, fixtures, and surrounding areas with drop sheets, masking tape, and protective coverings.

· Erect and work from ladders, scaffolding, swing stages, and aerial lifts in accordance with safety regulations.

· Remove old paint, wallpaper, and other surface coverings as required.

· Inspect completed work to ensure quality standards and perform touch-ups when necessary.

· Maintain painting tools, equipment, and materials in secure working condition.

· Follow workplace safety procedures and comply with occupational health and safety regulations.
