Overview
Coordinate the activities of large roster of part time staff while managing the flow of vehicles in and around The Aud complex, addressing and reporting escalated customer service issues as they arise. (Temporary Part Time for Approximately 12 Months)
Responsibilities
- Oversees and manage traffic entering and exiting parking lot.
- Provides direction and assistance to part time parking staff, including scheduling, deployment, training, and coaching.
- Ensures processes are in place to keep traffic flow moving and assist customers who have escalated issues or complaints.
- Patrols parking lot to monitor lots and parking staff, providing direction and assistance as needed.
- Steps in to assist when short staffed; scanning, directing, walking lots, etc.
- Offers high level customer service solutions and training. Hands on approach.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Fills out occurrence and incident reports as needed.
- Works with City Bylaw, EMS and WRPS as required.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education
- Minimum of a secondary school education.
Experience
- Minimum 12 months related experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Able to make decisions on the fly and have good judgement.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Willing to work on your feet, in a variety of outdoor conditions (rain, snow, wind, etc) and at both daytime and nighttime.
- Able to accurately process cash sales when necessary.
- Able to use a two-way radio to communicate to staff and management.
- Willing to work in a team environment and accept and give direction.
- Willing to work evenings and weekends (especially Fridays) as required up to 24 hours per week.
- Ability to perform some manual labour with prolonged walking/standing/being outdoors.
- Willing and able to troubleshoot issues with scanners, parking arms and radios.
- Able to speak and understand English fluently. Reliable with a valuable attitude and employment record.
