We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Part-Time Child Care Worker to support an intelligent and curious 6-year-old child with developmental activities and play-based learning. This role is perfect for individuals passionate about early childhood education or developmental support. Responsibilities
- Engage the child in learning activities such as: reading, puzzles, tracing, and kindergarten workbook tasks.
- Play-based learning with building blocks and toys.
- Create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment.
- Supervise and monitor the child during various activities, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
- Plan and implement age-appropriate educational and recreational activities that promote learning and social development.
- Foster a caring, inclusive environment that supports the child's diverse needs.
- Communicate effectively with parents or guardians regarding the child's progress, behavior, and any concerns.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment in compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Occasional outdoor activities and play in the community park when weather permits.
- Support children's emotional development by providing encouragement, guidance, and positive reinforcement.
Requirements
- Prior classroom experience or background in early childhood education is preferred
- Experience working with children of various ages and needs.
- Strong caregiving skills combined with patience, empathy, and excellent communication abilities.
- Knowledge of child development principles and age-specific activities.
- Ability to work collaboratively with team members and engage effectively with children and families.
- Certification in CPR/First Aid.
- Police/ Vulnerable Sector Check.
- A genuine passion for nurturing children's growth and supporting their individual needs.
Schedule
- Flexible: Weekday evenings (after 4.30pm) preferred.
- Total weekly hours is between 10 to 15 hours.
