About the role

We’re looking for a dependable, self-motivated person to take care of the grounds and handle minor maintenance at our 12-unit multi-family building. This is a steady year-round position: lawn care and yard upkeep through the warm months, snow and ice removal through the winter, and light maintenance work inside units and common areas as it comes up.

The core commitment is 10 hours a week, and you’ll have a good deal of say in when those hours happen. As long as the property looks sharp and the work gets done on time, the schedule is largely yours to set. Snow events and the occasional urgent repair are the exception — we need someone who can respond when called.

What you’ll be doing

Spring / Summer / Fall

- Mowing, trimming, and edging
- Weeding, garden bed upkeep, and general yard tidiness

- Leaf and debris cleanup
- Keeping walkways, entryways, and the parking area clear and presentable
- Garbage and recycling area upkeep

Winter
- Clearing snow from walkways, entrances, and parking areas
- Sanding or salting icy surfaces
- Responding to snowfall promptly so the property stays safe and compliant with municipal bylaws

Year-round — minor maintenance
- Small repairs in units between and during tenancies (patching, caulking, adjusting doors, replacing hardware)
- Changing light bulbs, furnace filters, and smoke detector batteries




- Basic plumbing fixes such as leaky taps, running toilets, and slow drains
- Common area upkeep and light cleaning
- Reporting larger issues so we can bring in a licensed trade

What we’re looking for
- Reliable and able to work with minimal supervision — you see what needs doing and do it
- Flexible, with genuine availability for on-call snow removal and urgent repairs
- Handy with basic tools and comfortable with small repairs
- Physically able to do outdoor work in all weather, including lifting up to 50 lbs
- Valid driver’s licence and own transportation
- Courteous and professional around tenants
- Own basic hand tools an asset (larger equipment is provided)
- Previous property maintenance, landscaping, or trades experience is an asset but not required
