We are seeking a dynamic and energetic Part-Time People & Culture Generalist to be based out of our Calgary office, beginning this November.
This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to our company’s human resources and employee engagement initiatives. The successful candidate will support various HR functions, including talent acquisition, employee relations, onboarding, training, and group benefit administration. Your proactive approach and excellent communication skills will help foster a positive workplace environment and ensure smooth people function operations.
This position is ideal for someone interested in pursuing their HR career on a part-time basis.
Primary accountabilities include
- Serve as a trusted point of contact for staff and management inquiries and concerns;
- Support onboarding procedures by coordinating current hire paperwork and conducting orientation sessions;
- Contribute to and champion wellness, culture and engagement initiatives;
- Manage day-to-day administration of our group benefits programs;
- Recruitment support including preparation of job postings, conduct screening, references, prepare draft job offers;
- Draft and distribute communications, reports and documentation relating to employee programs;
- Maintain up-to-date staff records/files;
- Participate in training & development programs by scheduling sessions, tracking attendance, and updating training records;
- Attend training sessions applicable directly to your position as well as those relevant to wellness, Indigenous learning, etc.; and
- Occasional travel to other offices (primarily Edmonton but may include other offices).
What you bring: We will recognize a combination of formal training and experience:
- Completion of a recognized education program in Human Resource Management, ideally a Bachelor degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or Organizational Behaviour;
- Minimum 3 years’ recent experience in an HR Assistant, Coordinator or Generalist role that included group benefits administration and recruitment support, ideally in a professional services organization;
- Comprehensive understanding of Alberta Employment Standards Code, with working understanding of employment-related regulatory frameworks (WCB, Canadian payroll, etc);
- Advanced level competency with MS Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint;
- Must be currently registered or eligible to register with CPHR Alberta, and interested in pursuing CPHR certification; and
- Working understanding of business principles, accounting systems, IT and related workings of office-based professional services organizations.

What we offer: Compensation for this position is anticipated to be between $32.50 – $37.50 / hour, commensurate with the experience and qualifications of the successful applicant and considering internal and external equity. This term-based role may be extended or expanded over time for the right candidate.
Unfortunately, due to the limited weekly hours associated with this part-time role, group benefits will not be offered. We are able to provide some level of flexibility insofar as regular workday hours (must be within 9 am and 5 pm MT weekdays), with potential for additional flexibility during school holidays.
