Job Type: Part-Time

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 2:00 p.m.–5:30 p.m.

Additional Hours: Full-time hours may be available during in-service days, school breaks, and summer.

About the Position

Assiniboine Children’s Centre is looking for a reliable, energetic, and caring individual to join our school-age child care team.

This is a consistent Monday–Friday position from 2:00 p.m.–5:30 p.m. throughout the school year and is an ideal opportunity for a university or college student whose schedule allows them to work weekday afternoons.

There are also opportunities for full-time hours during school in-service days, winter break, spring break, summer break, and other school closures.

We are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys working with children and is interested in becoming a consistent and dependable member of our team.

Responsibilities

- Supervise and engage with school-age children in a safe and positive environment
- Participate in activities, games, outdoor play, and daily routines
- Build positive relationships with children, families, and coworkers
- Support children with problem-solving, social skills, and daily interactions
- Work collaboratively as part of the child care team
- Be confident and responsible when independently supervising a group of children at times
- Follow centre policies, routines, and safety expectations

What We’re Looking For
- Enjoys working with school-age children
- Reliable, responsible, and punctual
- Able to consistently work Monday–Friday from 2:00 p.m.–5:30 p.m.
- Able to commit to the position throughout the school year
- Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
- Active and willing to participate with children rather than only supervise from the sidelines
- Strong verbal and written English communication skills
- Legally entitled to work in Canada





Requirements
- Current First Aid & CPR certification, or willingness to obtain
- Clear and current Criminal Record Check, or willingness to obtain
- Clear and current Child Abuse Registry Check, or willingness to obtain

Previous child care experience is an asset but not required for the right candidate.
