Overview
We are seeking a motivated Part-Time Tutor specializing in High School English to inspire and support students in reaching their academic goals. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work flexibly while making a difference in young learners’ lives. The ideal candidate will bring enthusiasm, strong communication skills, and a passion for teaching to our dynamic team.
Duties
- Deliver engaging and tailored English tutoring sessions to high school students, focusing on reading, writing, grammar, and literature
- Assess students’ individual needs and develop customized lesson plans that foster growth and confidence
- Support students in preparing for exams, essays, and classroom assignments with clear guidance and constructive feedback
- Communicate regularly with students and parents about progress, challenges, and achievements
- Incorporate additional languages such as Mandarin, French,
Spanish, or Japanese into lessons when appropriate to enhance learning experiences
- Maintain accurate records of tutoring sessions, student progress, and lesson plans
- Create a positive learning environment that encourages active participation and curiosity
Qualifications
- Proven experience working with children or high school students in an educational setting or tutoring capacity
- Strong writing skills with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly and effectively
- Multilingual abilities including Mandarin, French, Spanish, or Japanese are highly desirable
- Excellent communication skills in English; proficiency in additional languages is a plus
- Classroom experience or tutoring background is preferred
- Passion for teaching and helping students succeed through engaging instruction and personalized support
