Overview
We are seeking a motivated and energetic Part-Time Tutor to support high school students in math, physics and chemistry. This role offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students’ academic journeys by providing engaging, tailored tutoring sessions that foster confidence and mastery in key subjects. The ideal candidate will bring enthusiasm, patience, and a strong background in education to inspire learners and help them achieve their goals.
Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging tutoring sessions in high school math and science, including algebra, geometry, biology, chemistry, and physics
- Assess students’ individual needs and develop customized lesson plans to address their specific challenges
- Support students with homework, test preparation, and understanding complex concepts
- Foster a positive learning environment that encourages curiosity and confidence
- Track student progress regularly and communicate updates to parents or guardians as appropriate
- Utilize computer skills to prepare instructional materials and manage student records effectively
- Collaborate with other instructors to enhance program quality and share best practices
Skills
- Experience working with children or adolescents in an educational setting
- Strong knowledge of high school-level math and science subjects
- Proven tutoring or teaching experience that demonstrates patience and adaptability
- Excellent communication skills to explain concepts clearly and motivate students
- Proficiency with computers for lesson planning, virtual tutoring tools, and record keeping
- Classroom experience or background in special education is a plus
- Knowledge of computer science principles can be beneficial for integrating technology into lessons
