We are currently seeking a Parts Specialist for an auto body shop in Bolton, ON. This is a full time, permanent position reporting to the General Manager. Our client's volume is rapidly growing so we are looking for someone competent and experience in automotive parts to seamlessly transition into the role.
Responsibilities:
Parts Management
- Ensure parts room is organized at all times
- Tag parts carts with Vehicle ID Sheet during Repair Planning process
- Prepare parts carts for Repair and Reassembly process by stocking labelled carts with all necessary parts
- Assist Repair Planner with efficient organization of parts carts
- Collaborate with Repair Planner to order all necessary parts for vehicles during Repair Planning
- Confirm parts status with vendors; follow up with vendors regarding parts ETA,
communicate to the team & record in management software
- Mirror match incoming parts with original parts to ensure correct parts are received
- Notify team when parts arrive; progress vehicle into “Ready for Production” in management software once all critical parts have been received & mirror matched
Parts Invoicing & Returns
- Receive parts invoices in management software; ensure part numbers are correct
- Receive parts invoices the same day they are delivered
- Communicate parts price changes to team & estimating software
- Notify General Manager of any unconventional parts prices or discounts
- Ensure that incorrect/damaged parts are returned promptly
- Collect credit memos from vendors in a timely manner
- Receive credit memos in management software
- Maintain maximum parts return balance of $2,500
General Production Support
- Maintain awareness of sublet repairs on vehicles to support Repair Planner with production
- Support production team by driving i vehicles to and from local sublet partners, as needed
Qualifications:
- 2+ years automotive parts experience
- Automotive collision repair industry experience, preferred
- Experience with Partsbridge, CollisionLink & PartsKick, preferred
- Exceptional interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills to engage effectively with customers, peers, and other stakeholders
- High attention to detail with excellent organizational, planning, and time management abilities
- Proven ability to prioritize tasks, manage competing demands, and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
- Collaborative team member, while taking initiative
- Process-driven with strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, able to quickly learn current software
- Valid Ontario driver’s license, required
