Party Host / VIP & Guest Experience

Part time | Evenings & Weekends FRIDAYS AND SATURDAYS ONLY

Tropical is looking for an energetic, organized, and confident Party Host / VIP & Guest Experience team member to help manage our nightlife operations and create a smooth, welcoming experience for our guests.

This is a fast-paced role that works closely with management, security, servers, and the bar team during our busiest nights.

Responsibilities

- Welcome guests and manage the front door experience
- Collect and track cover charges
- Check and organize reservations and guest lists
- Coordinate VIP and bottle service reservations
- Confirm table minimums, deposits, and reservation details
- Assist guests with table placement and nightlife reservations
- Communicate VIP arrivals and special requests with servers and management
- Work closely with security to manage entry, lineups, capacity, and guest concerns
- Help maintain an organized flow between the entrance, reservations, VIP tables, and dance floor
- Assist management with guest service issues when needed
- Help create a fun, professional, and welcoming atmosphere





What We're Looking For
- Friendly, confident, and comfortable dealing with large crowds
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Able to stay calm and professional in a busy nightlife environment
- Comfortable handling payments and cash
- Reliable and punctual
- Available Friday and Saturday nights, with some Thursday or special-event availability
- Previous restaurant, nightclub, hosting, bottle service, or guest-service experience is an asset
- Spanish/English bilingual is a strong asset
- Must be comfortable working late nights

About Tropical Tropical is a Latin restaurant and nightlife destination in downtown Calgary. Our nights combine dinner, celebrations, DJs, dancing, VIP tables, birthdays, and special events.

We're looking for someone with great energy who can take ownership of the guest experience from the moment people arrive.

Pay: $16.00-$20.00 per hour
