Position: Payroll Manager Salary: $120,000-$130,000 + HOOPP Pension + Comprehensive Benefits Lead Payroll Transformation for a Leading Healthcare Organization Our client, a large and highly respected healthcare organization, is seeking a strategic Payroll Manager to lead payroll operations for approximately 4,000 employees across a complex, unionized environment. Manage, coach, and develop a team of five payroll professionals, fostering accountability and continuous improvement. Ensure payroll is processed accurately, on time, and in compliance with all legislative and regulatory requirements.

Maintain strong payroll governance through reconciliations, audits, and robust internal controls. Oversee year-end payroll activities including T4 preparation, reconciliations, and statutory reporting.



Partner closely with HR, Finance, union representatives, and leadership to resolve payroll matters and interpret collective agreements.

Ensure compliance with CRA regulations and support internal and external audits. Serve as the payroll lead for a major ERP implementation, helping drive change management and process optimization. Identify opportunities to improve payroll systems, workflows, controls, and reporting.

Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders while delivering exceptional payroll service. Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline. ~ Experience with Oracle ERP implementation. ~ Canadian Payroll Manager (CPM) designation is required. ~7+ years of progressive payroll experience within large, complex organizations. ~5+ years of people leadership experience managing payroll teams. ~ Extensive experience overseeing large-scale payroll operations in unionized environments. ~ Strong knowledge of payroll legislation, CRA compliance, remittances, and year-end reporting. ~ Experience working with enterprise ERP payroll systems. ~ Healthcare, public sector, or broader public sector experience.
